1.1.1 Update

Version 1.1.1 is here, which fixes a lot of bugs and improves some things too!

Improvements/Changes:

  • Completely reworked the player's movement and physics! I used Mario Maker 2 as a reference point and made the physics match it as closely as possible. Please let me know what you think of the changes!
    • This includes making wall-jumps much easier to perform, as well as making thrown items not bounce off walls
  • Moved a couple green coins
    • One of the green coins in "How will Mario win this maze?" was moved to where Playtime is
    • One of the green coins in the Coin Doors Maze was moved to the lava pit
    • Perfectly aligned the green coin in the underground part of 1-1
  • Removed Crawling from Pyramid of Goomba and World of Spikes, since those abilities aren't used in the original videos
  • Made the saws in World of Spikes quieter
  • Made the level modifiers visible right on the level select screen instead of hiding them behind the star button
  • Replaced the Mario and Luigi level with 2 new upcoming levels

Bug Fixes:

  • Fix level select tabs not updating as you switch pages
  • Made several fixes and changes to the rebind menu!
    • Only one binding can be set at a time
    • You can now bind multiple actions to the same key/button
    • Unpausing the game disables the rebind UI, and vice versa. This way you can play the test level without the cursor moving around and selecting stuff in the menu.
    • The controller rebinds now have 2 move bindings and 2 crouch bindings instead of 4 directional bindings
    • The default controller binding for spin jumping has now been set to the left trigger (previously it was set to "Trigger" which didn't map anywhere on a controller)
    • And some other fixes to the menu
  • Fullscreen option in settings is disabled on the web version, since it was not working correctly. You can still turn it on with the fullscreen button below the game.
  • Removed the wall jump ability icon from the Tiny Goomba Maze intro
  • Fixed an issue where the speedrun timer would sometimes start at about 0.5 seconds instead of 0
  • Made the speedrun timer stop immediately after ground-pounding the thwomp (previously it stopped after the fade to white)
  • Fixed the cutoff spring sound when Mario gets launched upward by the Giant Thwomp
  • Springs on the web version might be working correctly again, but I am not sure
  • Made piranha plant eat sound the correct one
  • Using on-screen controls, you can now slide your finger onto a button to press it, which should hopefully make them easier to use.
  • Improved some of the stationary camera zones in a couple levels
  • All settings now apply immediately, so you don't need to reset the level anymore for them to apply

Happy Mar10 day! This was definitely planned and not a coincidence at all!
